Info Session: Model Cities Homeownership Accelerator
Feeling stuck or overwhelmed by financial challenges that make purchasing seem out of reach? We want to build a new cohort with you!
Model Cities is taking a different approach to financial empowerment, creating collective knowledge to help homebuyers close the racial wealth and homeownership opportunity gaps. Our new Homeownership Accelerator focuses on collective care as we build a community of learning with resources that offer better options to more Minnesotans.
Launching this spring, the program features education and pre-purchase counseling with our HUD-certified housing experts. We will cover topics that go beyond traditional financial wellness, supporting generational healing to help participants build generational wealth!
Participating households will receive up to a total of $6,500 paid over a period of 12 months if selected.
We’re looking for individuals at least 18 years old who:
- Live in the Twin Cities metro
- Self-identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or People of Color)
- Are experiencing financial challenges that make home buying seem unreachable
Participants must be able to meet in person and commit to 6 months of biweekly classes, beginning March 18, 2026.
