DESCRIPTION:Feeling stuck or overwhelmed by financial challenges that make purchasing seem out of reach? We want to build a new cohort with you! \nModel Cities is taking a different approach to financial empowerment\, creating collective knowledge to help homebuyers close the racial wealth and homeownership opportunity gaps. Our new Homeownership Accelerator focuses on collective care as we build a community of learning with resources that offer better options to more Minnesotans. \nLaunching this spring\, the program features education and pre-purchase counseling with our HUD-certified housing experts. We will cover topics that go beyond traditional financial wellness\, supporting generational healing to help participants build generational wealth! \nParticipating households will receive up to a total of $6\,500 paid over a period of 12 months if selected. \nWe’re looking for individuals at least 18 years old who: \n\nLive in the Twin Cities metro\nSelf-identify as BIPOC (Black\, Indigenous\, or People of Color)\nAre experiencing financial challenges that make home buying seem unreachable\n\nParticipants must be able to meet in person and commit to 6 months of biweekly classes\, beginning March 18\, 2026. \nRegister for an information session: bit.ly/mc-accelerator-info \nQuestions?
