Contractual Rate: $25 per hour (all inclusive)
Position Summary: Ramsey County Community Corrections has engaged Model Cities of St. Paul, Inc. to carry out Community Coaching services to support its Alternative to Detention (ATD) program. Model Cities provides comprehensive, holistic services to young people through our Community Coaching program. The Community Coaching program provides services to youth ages 10- 21 who are on probation in Ramsey.
The goal of the Community Coaching program is for youth to build confidence through relationship and skill building to be productive and engaged in their communities. Model Cities has developed a successful model to reach this goal, through mentoring and coaching, providing access to opportunities around workforce development, peer connections and skill building.
Community Coaches work one-on-one with youth to help them complete goals set by themselves and the courts and/or probation. Community coaches engage in face-to-face visits with youth and provide up to 20 hours of services with each youth per month. Coaches and youth build connections to community-based services and activities, attend community events, explore youths’ interests, develop and practice important life skills, strengthen ties with education, and enhance positive peer relations.
